Today, we know the Malayalam film industry as a content-driven industry, where content is king and made movie unique and unforgettable, And give the movie a good run. But there is a time where the Malayalam industry has seen a dark phase in the period between 2000-2010; where movies didn’t even release or if they get the release it became a flop or disaster in the box office.
Only a few(4-5) movies were released in a year made a good run in the box office and make a profit. The industry sees Dark Phase in that time due to its uncreative/good script, poor quality of direction, getting high competition from the Tamil film industry, the low budget given by producers, theatres politics, pathetic marketing tactics and much more; due to which many movies didn’t even release in box office and producers get a big set back and not dare to release movies in theatres.
But, after 2010 New- generation/New-gen actors, script-writers, producers, entered the Malayalam cinema industry and revolutionized the whole industry, and “DARK PHASE” gets ended after that and both audience and industry take a breath of sighs. After 2010 many talented actors like Mohanlal, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly, Tovino Thomas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and many new, young, talented actresses came into the industry and surprised the audience with their acting skills.
Also many new directors like Aashiq Abu, Lijo Jose Pellissery, Jeethu Joseph come into the industry with their great directorial skills and vision and gave many amazing, brilliant cinemas to the INDIAN as well as global audience and many films they made also won National and many more awards and industry name shined again and give a record-breaking box-office collection, which gave producer an inspiration to invest money in good script and industry gave masterpieces.
Took any genre we can find at least one ‘Brilliant’ movie in that genre, And the golden journey of the Malayalam industry took a pace to reach in audience heart and to win their
hearts with “UNIQUE” content
